Design guide
Building a visual identity across print and social media
A project identity is more useful when it can survive across formats, not just look good in one finished design.
Think in systems, not single images
A strong identity includes repeatable choices: type, colour, image treatment, layout behaviour and tone. These decisions make later assets faster and more consistent.
Design for print constraints
Print needs bleed, safe areas, resolution and colour handling. A design that only works on screen may not translate cleanly to posters, packaging or flyers.
Plan social templates early
Social crops often need different compositions and text placement. If they are planned late, the design can feel squeezed into formats it was not built for.
Create a usable asset set
Useful identity work should give the client enough elements to keep using the design: logos, backgrounds, type guidance, crops, mockups and export formats where appropriate.
Keep consistency without making everything identical
A campaign can vary from asset to asset while still feeling connected. The identity should create recognition, not repetition for its own sake.
