Created for Plateface’s EP artwork and the connected single release Bespoke Cureall.

Reeka Studios developed the EP cover artwork for Plateface, creating a grungy visual identity rooted directly in the origin of the band’s name. The main artwork was based on a medical scan of the lead artist’s head, taken after they had a metal plate inserted into their skull. This personal medical image became the foundation for the release’s visual language, turning the name Plateface into something physical, textured and unsettling.

The EP artwork was also developed as a gatefold design, allowing it to connect seamlessly with the artwork for the lead single, Bespoke Cureall. The single centres on the idea of selling a magical item that promises to cure every ailment, and the artwork responds to that theme through a concrete wall, visibly cracked, with a plaster attempting to hold it together.

This image became a simple but direct visual metaphor: a surface-level fix applied to a much deeper structural problem. The plaster sits over the damage as though it might repair the wall, echoing the song’s themes of false solutions, quick fixes and the promise of an impossible cure.

Across the EP and single artwork, Reeka Studios built a connected visual system that brought the two releases together. The medical scan, damaged concrete, crack and plaster all speak to the same wider language of bodies, repair, damage and makeshift healing, allowing the Bespoke Cureall artwork to sit naturally within the broader Plateface EP identity.
