Reeka Studios created the album cover, cassette design and wider release artwork for Elusive Jazz’s Elusive Jazz promotional release, which was developed to promote the West Yorkshire jazz scene and distributed at Jazzahead! in Germany.

Working closely from the original brief, Reeka Studios developed a visual direction that needed to feel rooted in West Yorkshire while still carrying the tone, texture and visual language of classic jazz design. The artwork drew from traditional jazz album stylings, using bold graphic composition, considered colour choices and a strong sense of rhythm across the layout.

A key part of the concept was the use of Ilkley Moor, one of Yorkshire’s most recognisable landscapes, reworked as a jazz-inspired graphical interpretation. This gave the release a clear regional identity while keeping the overall design closely connected to the sound and culture of the project.

Reeka Studios then adapted the design across multiple physical formats, including CD artwork, printed box art, cassette tape boxes and the cassette tapes themselves. Each version was carefully reformatted to suit the requirements of the medium while preserving the core visual identity, composition and atmosphere of the original artwork.
